In order to understand the dramatic effect of increased oxygenation on cancer (and all anaerobic diseases) it is important to explain the conditions (and the only conditions) which allow cancer cells to not only survive but multiply and flourish. In order to do this an explanation of the metabolism of healthy and unhealthy cells must be explained- or in this case non-cancerous and cancerous cells.

A normal healthy cell burns oxygen and glucose (blood sugar) for energy and releases carbon dioxide and. This healthy cell is functioning aerobically- in the presence of sufficient oxygen. No anaerobic (cancer, Epstein Barr, herpes, mono, genital warts, etc.) can flourish, replicate or even survive in this oxygen rich environment.

An unhealthy or diseased cell is lacking sufficient oxygen but will still produce energy by burning mainly. This is very inefficient and a severe drain on the body. This energy burning process (sugar fermentation) releases mainly lactic acid and carbon monoxide instead of carbon dioxide. This cell is functioning anaerobically- with no oxygen present. Cancer, viral diseases, etc. flourish in this environment-little or no oxygen (and low PH).
Anaerobic cells must work harder than aerobic cells to produce energy from the glucose they metabolize.

Therefore, anaerobic cells burn much more glucose to produce the same amount of energy as aerobic. Cancer cells exhibit this anaerobic mode of metabolism- lack of oxygen, high glucose consumption, carbon monoxide and high lactic acid production. Cancer cells thrive in this high sugar-low oxygen environment but cannot exist in the opposite condition of high oxygen-low sugar mode of healthy cells.

Dr. Otto Warburg, whose name has been bandied about so often that his significance has been unjustifiably minimized, was a biochemist in cancer research. He won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for proving that a cancer cell cannot exist in an oxidizing, healthy cell. Dr. Waburgh was the director of the Max Planck Institute for Cell Physiology in Germany. In “The Prime Cause and Prevention of Cancer” 1967,

Dr. Warburg proposed that normalizing the metabolism of cancer cells was the key to effective treatment cancer and the means to accomplish this was to increase the oxygen content of the cells. Dr.Warburg stated that as the first priority of treatment, “– all growing body cells be saturated with oxygen” and the second priority was to avoid further exposure to toxins.
Dr. Warburg’s second priority to avoid further exposure to toxins is more difficult. We are exposed to toxins every day in the food we eat, water we drink and air we breathe. Every foreign invader that enters the body must be oxidized to pass through the body thus using valuable oxygen- oxygen needed for proper functioning. These unnatural substances include processed foods and preservatives (to extend life); food dyes; hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated foods; most vegetables oils (some rancid almost immediately); polluted water; chlorine, fluoride, lead, aluminum, etc. in water; polluted air (especially in the inner cities);smoking; excessive alcohol consumption; exercising to fatigue (moderate exercise is important); shallow breathing; pesticides; bleaching of napkins, toilet paper; etc. etc. etc.
Is it no wonder that most are oxygen depraved and diseases flourish.

Herpes Cure Through Oxygenation

Herpes is a virus and viruses are anaerobic. They exist, survive and proliferate with little or no oxygen present. The herpes virus lacks the genetic material for reproduction and must inhabit a cell and rob the cell of its missing genetic material to multiply. They multiply by attaching themselves to DNA or RNA of normal cells forcing the cell to produce more of the virus. They remain latent until our defenses are down when they travel from cell to cell replicating wildly causing a herpes outbreak.

The herpes virus cannot exist in an elevated oxygen environment. Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for proving that viruses cannot proliferate, cannot exist in the presence of sufficient oxygen. Cuba, Russia, West Germany and Italy have all successfully treated viral infections with increased oxygenation. At the Center of Medical and Surgical Research in Havana fifteen adults patients suffering from herpes zoster were treated with injections of ozone/oxygen for a period of fifteen days. All patients were completely symptom free after the treatment AND follow-up examinations a year later showed not one relapse.

Dr. R. Mattassi of the Division of Vascular Surgery at the Santa Corona Hospital in Milan, Italy treated 27 herpes patients with intravenous injections of oxygen and ozone. All patients healed completely after a minimum of one and a maximum of five injections. Five years later 24 of the 27 were still outbreak free. Re-infection was suspected in the other three.

Dr Parris Kidd has stated:
“Oxygen plays a pivotal role in the proper functioning of the immune system; i.e. resistance to disease, bacterial, and viruses.”

Dr. Stephen Levine has also stated:
“We can look at oxygen deficiency as the single greatest cause of all disease.”
Thus the development of a shortage of oxygen in the blood could very well be the starting point for the loss of the immune system and the beginning of feared health problems such as cancer, leukemia, AIDS, candida, seizures, and nerve deterioration.

Dr Freibott explains why oxygen and oxidation is so vital:
“It is the lack of oxygen in proper amounts in the system that prevents oxidation and oxygenation, which energizes the cells to biological regeneration. Sulfur is an essential mineral which the body uses to make many of its amino acids and proteins, according to a study done at the Institute of Human Nutrition, School of Medicine, University of Southhampton in the UK, in 2006.[1] The researchers of the study, titled The Effects of Sulfur Amino Acid Intake on Immune Function in Humans, revealed sulfur’s important role in keeping our immune system healthy and efficient. The study shows that sulfur in the form of methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) may provide natural and effective support in alleviating inflammation throughout the body.
The best study on sulfur is perhaps the ongoing Live Blood Cellular Matrix Study (12 years at the time of writing this), which is not a scientific study by any means, but it consists of collecting anecdotal evidence from those who have benefited from using sulfur for a large number of different conditions.[2] In my opinion, when properly controlled as it is being done in this study, valuable real-life information can be gained that otherwise may remain concealed in “properly” conducted scientifically studies.
In essence, sulfur makes it possible for proteins and other nutrients and gases to pass across the membranes into the cells. Without it, cell membranes become leathery and less permeable, thereby forcing cells to become anaerobic and accumulate acid metabolic wastes. This can cause them to either turn cancerous, or to degenerate and die. Since sulfur cannot be stored in the body, not being amply supplied with it each day through food and drinking water causes us to die each day a little more through cell degeneration (called disease and aging).
Sulfur is naturally found in hard water. The populations in some Mediterranean countries where the water is partially hard tend to have a low incidence in heart disease and dementia. Iceland, which is particularly blessed with sulfur-rich water (Sulphur Springs), is ranked as the healthiest country in the world, according to a Forbes report (followed by Finland and Sweden).
Water softening, as well as fluoridation and chlorination of water strip the water of all its sulfur. This is one of the reasons sulfur deficiency is more pronounced in larger cities or communities supplied with treated, municipal water. Before the era of chemical fertilizers, our food was grown through the applications of sulfur-rich manures to the soil. The extensive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, on the other hand, has stripped our foods of almost all sulfur. Whatever sulfur is left in these foods, is removed through food processing, heating, and preservation methods. After chemical fertilizers were mandated in the US in 1954 the incidence of cancer and other major degenerative illnesses increased by an astounding 4000 percent.
Finland was one of the first countries in the world to recognize the fundamental dangers of modern farming methods and food production. In 1985, alarmed by the same obscene increase in degenerative disease at similar levels to those found in the US, Finland altogether banned the use of chemical fertilizers. This resulted in their disease rates to drop to one tenth of their 1985 rates. Today, Finland does not only boast one of the healthiest populations in the world, they are also the leading supplier of organically grown foods in Europe.  
In the body, sulfur is responsible for allowing cells to use oxygen effectively and for undergoing repair, if damaged. In fact, without enough sulfur in the body, healing cannot take place. Unless you eat mostly organically grown foods and drink natural, untreated water, you may not be able to keep the body at its optimal level of health and vitality.
Aging has very little to do with one’s age. Aging is rather a nutrient-deficiency syndrome that increasingly prevents the nourishment of the body’s organs and systems and forces the cells to hold on to their own waste products. Sulfur is that one single mineral that regulates cellular nourishment and waste removal. To do this successfully, the body requires about 750mg of sulfur each day. The sulfur can draw toxins out of the cells, even fat cells and brain cells. It increases circulation, enzyme activity, strengthens the immune system, reduces recovery time after injury, reduces muscle pain and soreness, promotes healthy growth of hair and nails, helps with cancer, osteoporosis, depression, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s  disease, and diabetes.  I cannot think of any inflammatory illness where sulfur-deficiency does not also play a key role. Almost all diseases are due to inflammation.
Toxins in our environment, food additives, pesticides and herbicides sprayed on foods and into the air, Chemtrail toxins (such as aluminum oxides and barium), vaccines, radiation toxins created by cell phones and wireless devices, etc., all deplete sulfur in the body. Remember, it takes a lot of sulfur to remove just the internally generated waste products each day. There is not much sulfur left to deal with the unnaturally supplied toxins, which  can then easily overtax the liver, kidneys, heart and brain.
Cleaning out the liver and gallbladder, colon, and kidneys, combined with eating mostly organically grown foods and natural untreated water, are among the basic steps to restore the body health and slow the aging process.
Vegetarian foods that are particularly rich in sulfur include broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts, watercress, and radish. If you suffer from an illness, though, and require extra sulfur to support the healing and repair of damaged cells in your body, you may consider eating extra sulfur as part for your daily diet.
If you are taking any medication, make sure to leave at least 30 minutes between taking your medication and taking sulfur. The chemicals would quickly deplete the sulfur and thus render it ineffective.
Note: The sulfur typically sold in the form of MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) supplements is usually ineffective. Most MSM products sold commercially contain less than 35 percent sulfur, and some MSM products contain no sulfur at all. This is largely due to the crushing of the methylsulfonylmethane crystals into powder and adding anti-cake agents.  Additives of packaging may also block or neutralize the bio availability of the sulfur contained in the MSM. I recommend that you only use organic sulfur in its crystal form and lignin (wood) based. (See Product Details.)
Possible cleansing reactions:
Because Sulfur is an effective cleanser it may initially lead to mild cleansing reactions such as intestinal gas. Do not become discouraged if it doesn’t make you feel good right away. It can easily take 3-4 weeks before the body’s cell membranes become unclogged and proper cell oxygenation kicks in. The less toxic the body is the faster the results will become apparent. In any case, the sulfur is equally effective for everyone because it is an essential food, not a medicine (although natural food acts like medicine).  Without sulfur, we could not live even for one minute.
If taking the sulfur at the recommend dosage makes you feel uncomfortable at first, use a smaller dosage and slowly work up to a teaspoon (5g) twice a day. Those with a severe degenerative disease may take as much as 1 tablespoon (15g) twice daily but should also start at no more than 1 teaspoon twice a day.
It can take up to 3-4 months for damaged or weak cells to reach the end of their natural cycle and for new, healthy, properly oxygenated cells to replace them. In addition, a lifetime of absorbing toxins buried under layers of fat and insulating mucopolysaccharides (mucous) cannot be undone over night.So be patient. It is far better to know something as pure and cleansing as sulfur is causing a little temporary discomfort than not to notice  the body slowly suffocating in a pool of toxins.
A Simple Taste Test:
When eaten straight, organic sulfur has a bitter taste to it, which is much more noticeable when the body is quite toxic. The less toxins there are in the body, the less bitter the sulfur tastes. So if it tastes very bitter to you, you can be certain you are quite deficient in it.
To make it easier on your taste buds, you can put the sulfur in your mouth and immediately swig a little lime or lemon juice and its flakes will melt in your mouth as you swallow. Then drink an 8-ounce (240ml) glass of non chlorinated, non fluoridated water (these chemicals will nullify the benefits of the ingested sulfur).  Alternately, dissolve it in a glass of warm water with some lime or lemon juice added, and perhaps a little raw honey.
Organic sulfur has no known toxicity. Even if you took too much of it, it would simply be excreted by the body.

Why Most MSM Supplements Do NOT Work

The Study’s initial research of organic sulfur had its participants go to the store to buy MSM (methylsulfonylmethane). But what we hoped to observe did not coincide with what the literature said about MSM. Except for gastrointestinal improvements, our initial group had little improvement. When we found an article about the 16 “deadly” additives found in MSM—the anti-caking additives, we realized why our early participants were not reporting any health improvements. These additives benefit only the packaging industry;  our health is apparently a lesser concern to them. Sulfur, with an atomic number of 16, is known to bond with almost every other mineral.  Sulfur has demonstrated its ability to detoxify heavy metals in conjunction with the transport of oxygen across the cell membrane, thus allowing regeneration.  Sulfur is also the key player as a precursor for the utilization of amino acids, the body’s building blocks.  Of all of the amino acids, some 70 percent are sulfur-based. This detoxification cannot happen with MSM that contains anti-caking ingredients, because these excipients block the bioavailability of sulfur to the cells. The same thing happens when organic sulfur is released into the ocean, or evaporates and falls with rain—that sulfur is bound up by the chemical fertilizers as sulfites and sulfates. It soon became clear that the Study had to find a pure, uncontaminated form of MSM.  SULFUR – A Secret Weapon Against Every Kind of Degenerative Disease

All of us are undergoing an unprecedented level of toxic assault from radiation, GMO foods, toxic chemicals the FDA fraudulently allows to be put into food, personal care products and medication, and now more recently, chemtrails that poison our air, water and soil with toxic metals. How can we be free to experience optimal health in the face of this onslaught? As the first person in the world to call attention to the UN Codex international threat to health freedom, I’ve been on a personal quest to improve my health ever since orthomolecular medicine helped me finally escape the hell of the psychiatric system 35 years ago.

Although orthomolecular medicine, a suppressed nutritional treatment mode, addressed the nutritional deficiency that caused my biochemical imbalance, there were still several key missing pieces of my personal health jigsaw puzzle that I only now have fully discovered. The first was the discovery of the need to focus on the health of my gut. The second discovery was the essential role organic sulfur played in maintaining the health of my gut. And lastly, that there is really only one disease: cellular malfunction due to lack of oxygen on the cellular level.


There’s a popular expression we’ve often used: “what does your GUT tell you?” Did you realize that you have a second brain? This was a revelation to me. Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, intuitively understood this over 2000 years ago when he stated that “all illness stems from the gut.”

The reason there is no such thing as “mental” illness is because we can’t separate the brain from the rest of the body, especially not from our small intestines. Our brains are inextricably intertwined with every organ system in the body, especially with the neurons or nerve cells in our gut. Did you know that we have more neurons in our gut that in our brain? In fact 95% percent of the “feel good” neurotransmitter serotonin manufactured in our body is not made in the brain, it’s made in our small intestines, our gut!

A “healthy” person has approximately 4 pounds of beneficial probiotics comprised of beneficial bacteria, yeast and viruses that populate the gastrointestinal tract or gut. These non-human organisms are also called the “microbiome” and hopefully provide a symbiotic relationship with our enterocytes or gut cells that line the small intestines by helping digest fiber and other nutrients into our body.

It’s important to have more of the beneficial gut flora because they work symbiotically with our enterocytes to produce vitamins (like B1, B2, B3, B5, B6), K2, enzymes, neurotransmitters, antibiotics, and so on. In other words, ideally we have our very own biochemical factory that synthesizes the substances our bodies need to help keep our immune system intact and our moods balanced. Unfortunately, the foods we eat, the air we breathe, and the types of personal hygiene products and pharmaceutical medications we’ve taken also affects the health of our microbiome. Most often, there’s an imbalance that allows opportunistic flora to overwhelm the beneficial gut flora, thereby causing disease.

When we are born, our gastrointestinal tract is sterile, and is primarily populated with the flora from our mother as we pass through the birth canal. In essence, we “inherit” the health or imbalance of her gut flora. If she has gut dysbiosis, then the child will most likely be born with compromised immunity and may experience a range of symptoms from mild (allergies) to severe (learning disabilities like hyperactivity, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia).


The health of the cell is very important, especially our gastrointestinal (GI) cells called enterocytes. In a healthy person, the small intestine usually is neutral in pH, the stomach is very acidic (pH 2.5) and the large intestine is usually around pH 6.5.

When we’re under stress, we get a huge acid dump into our gut, causing our small intestines to go from neutral to acidic. In the past several years, there has been a disturbing phenomenon of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth or SIBO that colonize the small intestine. According to Nora T. Gedgaudas in Primal Body, Primal Mind, the large intestines and not the small ones, were meant to be colonized by bacteria. These rod-shaped bacterial colonies are associated with damaging the lining of the small intestine, and in high enough amounts, produce enough acids that are related to neurological and cognitive symptoms known as “leaky gut syndrome”. Those who suffer from celiac disease, autism, and schizophrenia often share this common symptom of “leaky gut syndrome”. What is surprising is that these rod-shaped bacteria never existed before in humans.

When cells exist in a low pH or acidic environment, their ability to transport oxygen into the cells and remove toxins becomes impaired. The lack of oxygen creates cellular malfunction, and the result is disease such as cancer.

Back in 1931, Dr. Otto Warburg, M.D., won the Nobel Prize for discovering the nature of cancer and “the mode of action of the respiratory enzyme”. Warburg said: “Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes. But, even for cancer, there is only one prime cause. Summarized in a few words, the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar.” In other words, cancer cells proliferate in an anaerobic environment where the mitochondria inside the cells produce energy without oxygen and one of the byproducts is a build-up of lactic acid. Research for the last 50 years has shown that tumor cells use lactic acid for food and makes tumor cells resistant to radiation and chemotherapy.


One of the best ways to oxygenate your cells, alkalize your blood and remove toxins that can lead to cellular malfunction is to take organic sulfur. Sulfur lets oxygen in by increasing the permeability of cell membranes, and takes out the trash! Sulfur is found abundantly in soils rich with volcanic basalt and used to be available in eggs, onions, garlic, raspberries, turnips, and cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, kale, etc. Unfortunately, our food today is grown in soil that is deficient in trace minerals and sulfur that our bodies need to build our immunity and repair our bodies. Since the 1950s, commercial farmers have used petroleum-based fertilizers that deplete the sulfur found in our soils. The USDA was aware of the sulfur deficiency in the soils in the south eastern US, but little was done to address or reverse the deficiency.

Today, sulfur deficiency has been linked to major diseases like obesity, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and chronic fatigue. One need only look at the Center for Disease Control’s (CDCs) own Diabetes Translation Division trend maps that show that obesity and diabetes comprise 26% and 9% respectively of the population in the South Eastern US from 1994 – 2008. For 2010, the trends show some states having obesity rates at 30% of their population.

Another reason for sulfur deficiency is due to the gut dysbiosis either from ingestion of prescription medication like birth control pills, antibiotics, antacids, and so on and the proliferation of sulphate-reducing microbes that make sulfur unavailable to the body, and metabolize sulfur into sulfites which are toxic to the body. In autistic children, severe deficiency of sulphate is found 95% of the time due to an overgrowth of these sulphate-reducing microbes.

Deficiency of Amino Acids Create Symptoms

Protein is essential for growth and maintenance of our bodies.   Proteins are broken down into amino acids.  There are non-essential amino acids that our bodies can produce, and essential amino acids that we must get from our diet.

Essential amino acids include:

  • Phenylalanine
  • Valine

Deficiencies in amino acids lead to specific symptoms:

Deficiency of tryptophan leads to deficiency in serotonin and melatonin, both important neurotransmitters (brain chemicals).  Without enough serotonin or melatonin, you can experience depression, confusion, insomnia, and anxiety.

Deficiency of phenylalanine, leucine, isoleucine, and valine leads to loss of muscle mass.

Chemical fertilizers

What is the fertilizer in our food made of and what effects does it have on our health? How does the fertilizer now, in terms of mineral content, differ from the fertilizer of the pre-industrial age?

Pre industrial age fertilizers were organic, natural decomposition of organic material mainly manures. Chemical fertilizers are produced from high temperature processing of organic materials such as coal tar and later crude oil. The use of temperatures above the vaporization point of sulfur as described by the petrochemical company’s own web sites appear to be the issue.

Those cultures which have organic fertilized food supplies have lower disease than those who use artificial forms of plant foods. Finland banned the use of chemical fertilizers because of they feared the cadmium and its perceived toxic abilities in 1985. Their epidemiology has shown a 10 fold improvement compared to that of the US in 1985 which had almost identical numbers.

This is a story that may be too convoluted to tell briefly. But regarding sulfur hopefully this will suffice. Chemical fertilizers were first developed in the 1700s by a Polish researcher. Not until Farbin ( Bayer ) adopted this research and began producing chemical fertilizers from coal tar in 1860 did their use affect those who ate the food. Two medical events which occurred in Germany we feel could be directly related to these fertilizers. 1906 Dr Alzheimer described “ women lost in their own minds.” otherwise Alzheimer’s which had not observed in countries other than Germany until after the adoption of the use of these chemical fertilizers. Most of Europe had adopted these fertilizers before the start of WW2. In 1920, Dr. Otto Warburg had an opportunity to see enough cancer to describe the basis for his Noble Prize work while cancer was less evident in other countries. In 1938 when the price of gas and crude oil was cheap Prescott Bush [the grandfather of current (2008) U.S. President George W. Bush] and Nelson Rockefeller [the son of John D. Rockefeller] contracted with Farbin I.G. to develop a crude oil based fertilizer in the West Nile Region of Africa. That formula which is known as Ammonium Sulfate and Ammonium Nitrate is the leading formula for most chemical fertilizers used world wide.

These fertilizers are devoid of sulfur due to the 380 degree F temperatures at which they are “crackled.” The other issue is that these fertilizers bind up any free sulfur available in rain water from the sulfur cycle.

Sulfur is the forgotten nutrient as stated by Dr. Beth Ley, Ph.D. Sulfur is the third or fourth most important mineral ( element ) necessary for healthy metabolism yet sulfur is not discussed in medical or scientific literature. The assumption is that we get all of the sulfur we need from our food we eat and that may have been true until we changed the way we feed our food.

A review of the epidemiology of the US since 1954 when chemical fertilizers were mandated shows as much as a 4,000% increase in cancer and other disease entities. The responses from our Study members appear to suggest that by adding sulfur to their diets these disease entities have been reversed or addressed in a positive manner.

Finland is an interesting case for the effects of chemical fertilizers. Fearing the cadmium these fertilizers contained Finland banned their use in 1985. Nowhere was sulfur ever mentioned regarding these fertilizers.

Other cultures such as the Amish which use only organic fertilizers also enjoy fewer diseases though we must rely on the fewer studies regarding their “epidemiology.” Okinawa and South Korea have lower disease rates compared to the rest of Japan or North Korea. Brazil has higher disease rates than Argentina which relies on manure rather than chemical fertilizers.

The manufacturers of chemical fertilizers argue that their products produce greater crop yields, but the question is whether the nutritional value is also higher compared to the gross tonnage. [a very interesting point]

“Without a constant supply of sulfur we are, in effect, dying each day through cellular degeneration.” What are some ways a person can get an adequate supply of sulfur in their body to stay healthy?

Prior to the use of chemical fertilizers, we and many nutritional researchers as stated in Jack Challem’s article the “Sulfur Solution” our nutritional need for sulfur was supplied by all of the food we ate. We argue that since we have altered the bio available sulfur our food receives have become sulfur deficient. Grass eating livestock plus organically grown produce could again supply our need for sulfur. Those cultures which eat organically grown foods are not sulfur deficient. Garlic, green onions, kale, broccoli and spinach are high in sulfur, if grown organically. Sulfur is a mineral which is not made by plants or animals, it is either in our soils or NOT. Until we return to a more organic agribusiness then supplementing is the only way we see to allow our bodies to stay healthy regarding our need for sulfur. We feel it is important to remember that we and all living organisms are cells which are combined within a matrix to form all of our “parts” and in turn our whole.
